Actress Busy Philipps, who currently stars on the hit television show, “Cougar Town,” announced in December 2012 that she’s expecting her second child with husband Marc Silverstein.
Since then, Philipps – who has a 4-year-old daughter, Birdie Leigh – has taken the opportunity to gush about her pregnancy and show off some of the trendiest maternity wear looks of the season.
“I feel good!” Philipps told The Huffington Post of her pregnancy. “I’m kind of lucky that we’ve finished shooting “Cougar Town,” so I’m able to kind of just enjoy my pregnancy and be a stay-at-home mom and go to prenatal Pilates and do all that fun stuff that, if I were working, would be almost impossible to do.”
On Jan. 27, Philipps arrived at the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles wearing a bold black evening gown that immediately conjured up the perfect blend of drama and elegance – ideal for the occasion!
Paired with turquoise accessories, Philipps flaunted her growing baby bump in the ensemble.
The star has gone on record recently on the topic of celebrity pregnancies and the media’s fascination with weight gain. Philipps, who admitted that it took her nearly a year to bounce back to her pre-baby weight after delivering her daughter, believes that mothers should be given a break and that the emphasis should be on health, not appearances – especially when giving birth to a happy baby is the most important part of the experience.
