Grammy-nominated musician Jewel and her husband, professional bull rider Ty Murray, have become first-time parents!
The duo welcomed a son, named Kase Townes Murray, on July 12, People.com reports. The healthy baby boy was born at 7 p.m., weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and the brand new parents couldn't be more excited.
"Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world," said the 36-year-old singer. "We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!"
For Jewel, Kase's delivery was the culmination of a wonderful pregnancy experience she called a "privilege." The singer admitted that she'd heard plenty of horror stories about pregnancy, labor, and delivery, but told Fit Pregnancy magazine that she was feeling "really great" and enjoying pregnancy even more than she thought she would.
Although Jewel and Murray have been living in marital bliss for three years, they have been together for more than 13! We're so glad they finally welcomed a little one into their loving family.
