As a I agree with all of your reasons, and like to add as a doula we create a trust, bond, and security with the parents. But for me, out of all of them, the most important is the one you listed second, about communicating your preferences. I can't say how many times women's plans get ignored. I almost feel like they are being taken advantage of because they get too tired to argue (labor is hard work!) or they are focused on that baby rather than logistics. A Doula can fight for a mother's preference so that the mother can focus on having her baby.</p> These are all great reasons to have a Doula at your delivery.
