Melanie is a pediatric registered dietitian nutritionist (RD) and a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). She is the Chief Clinical Officer at Pacify. Pacify is a mobile application that new parents download to their smart phones for access to lactation consultants, pediatric nutritionists and nurses. Melanie also runs a private practice and counsels families on a variety of topics: picky eating, food allergies, poor weight gain, obesity, vegetarian/vegan, breastfeeding, Celiac Disease, eating disorders and Prader-Willi Syndrome. Melanie is a contributor to The Huffington Post and has presented at many local and national conferences on picky eaters and the optimal nutrition for children with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
Melanie spent seven years as a clinical dietitian at The University of Chicago Medical Center in the neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care unit, adult and pediatric burn units, and high risk pediatric follow-up clinic. She also served as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago. She has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Spanish from Indiana University and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University.
