Nancy Cohen


Nancy is a child development and behavior specialist who has worked with parents and children ranging in age from birth through adolescence for over 30 years. She specializes in families with pre-school children with pre-diagnoses such as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD). She works with families with toddlers and pre-schoolers with typical but difficult behaviors such as tantrums, sleeping and eating issues, potty training, aggression, sibling rivalry, emotional regulation, social problems, and defiance. Nancy offers a holistic, positive parenting approach and support parents in adapting parenting styles and strategies in order to create a more harmonious family dynamic. In addition to her private practice, her experience in the field includes: 20 years at Rady Children’s Hospital as a Behavior Specialist and Early Childhood Program Coordinator; Child Development and Psychology Instructor at Mira Costa College; Director of the Parent Toddler Program at the Children’s School as well as School Principal.
