Is an email birth announcement in bad taste?

by Pregnancy Editors

Your little one has finally arrived! So how will you let your wide-ranging friends and family know that you’re now a mom? There are a ton of different ways, from the modern to the traditional, but here are some of our faves.

1. Paper birth announcements. Want to go old school? Send out letters to your friends and family with your baby’s name and birthday. You can use all kinds of personalized stationary for this task, so get creative.

2. Digital birth announcements. If you’re the kind of girl who’s always on the computer, skip the paper and send out a digital note. With templates, animations and all kinds of customizable messages, you can spread word regarding your baby’s birth just the way you want – and instantly.

3. Go modern. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – you can use any of these platforms to gleefully announce that you’ve just become a parent. Update your status, send out a text or post a picture to let everyone know the great news.

We would add that one advantage paper has is that you can frame it to remind you forever of that special day and how small your baby was.

What do you think? Paper the only way to go? Or something less traditional okay?
