Here are some good ideas for keeping expenses low (or at least lower) around the holidays. We especially like ideas around making things ourselves and home baking since it really gets us into the holiday spirit to spend a Sunday afternoon baking cookies to give to friends.
Quite frankly though, we’re less into the ”coupon” ideas where you give a loved one the ”promise” of a favor to come. It’s often hard to redeem them and they don’t feel like a real gift, especially for kids. If you’re going to go this route, better to actually go out and clean the garage, rather than promise to do it in the future.
