As a parent, you may already be familiar with Bumbo, the brand behind the much-loved molded foam seat that gives babies the support they need to sit up and enjoy the world from an upright position. Now, Bumbo has a new product, the Bumbo Booster Seat, that empowers older toddlers by giving them a seat at the family dining table.
Like the original Bumbo seat, the Bumbo Booster Seat is made from foam that provides comfort while curving up at the sides to help keep your child in place. For added safety, the seat has a 3-point harness and buckle. For a two year old, there is a bit of wiggle room, but I still feel confident that my daughter isn’t going anywhere. Also, it’s nice to know that this seat should last her awhile with the belt getting more snug over time. The belts swivel at the point where they connect to the seat, which helps with positioning them to accommodate different sized children – a great grow-with-me feature.
The seat fits well on our standard adult chair with one buckle that fastens under the seat and another that fastens behind the back of the chair. The belts are really secure and don’t slide easily through the belt hardware, which is good once you have them pulled tight. However, it does make it somewhat difficult to adjust the belts since it takes quite a bit of effort to get rid of any slack. My advice is to try to take the slack out of the belts before securing the buckles.
With the smooth contours, this seat is really easy to clean, which is key for a booster seat. The only part that may get a little grungy over time are the buckles, but running a sponge over them has done the trick so far. The seat comes in bright, fun colors like the original seat. Ours is lime green, and my daughter loves sitting in her green seat!
The seat is also the perfect height, letting our daughter easily reach her food, while giving her enough leg room between the seat and the bottom of the table. It’s also nice to be able to just slide the chair under the table when not in use, a great space saver.
