Bioserie Collection Toys

Like many moms, I try to be mindful of what is in my son’s toys. When I’m purchasing toys, I tend to buy items made of wood or other natural materials. Sometimes these lack that vibrant and exciting pizazz of a colorful plastic toy and can be cost prohibitive.

So, I was excited to hear about Kids Preferred new Bioserie collection that includes toys made from sustainable corn plant crops. They are the first 100 percent USDA certified bio based toys to enter the market. We tried the 2-in-1 stacker and the shape sorting and stacking cube.

The 2-in-1 stacker looks like a traditional plastic stacking toy. The vibrant colors stand out immediately. It can be manipulated to stack any way, and includes the base, 5 stacking discs, and the topper. The material almost feels like a metal more than a plastic and has a durable, steady feel to it. We discovered that the bottom base could be put on so that it rocks back and forth or upside down so that it remains steady. I could see my son working on his coordination and motor skills as he tried to place the rings on the stacker. His favorite, however, was just to pull them off again and again. The topper’s round shape fit perfectly into his hand and he kept trying to stick his finger into the little hole on top.

The Shape Sorting and Stacking Cube also feels more like a metal than a plastic and the pieces are very durable and colorful. It’s an interesting toy because you can match the shapes to the cube so that the pieces fit and stick out like a puzzle, or fall into the cube itself. The different shapes themselves can also be stacked onto each other to create a taller structure. My son really enjoyed exploring these pieces and trying to figure out how to get them back out once they fell into the cube. He discovered they made a fun loud sound when he tapped them together.

This line of toys is completely free from oil-based chemicals, BPA, PVC, phthalates, styrenes, and other heavy metals. Instead they are developed from a renewable plant-based plastic. As I watch my son manipulate these toys with both his hands and mouth, it’s comforting to know the materials are completely safe. Both of these toys have gotten a lot of attention in our playroom, and I like that they can both be used in a variety of ways. They are dishwasher safe, and easy to clean. The stacker and cube retail for $20 and $22 respectively, and are a good value. They are durable and long-lasting and well worth the price. I would recommend this product and look forward to seeing more items from this line of toys.
