A very pregnant Kate Hudson is expecting her second child this summer, and she decided to celebrity the occasion with a lavish baby shower in Malibu, California, last weekend. In addition to her 7-year-old son, Ryder, and rocker fiance Matt Bellamy, the 80-person guest list featured some pretty big names – like fellow celeb moms Nicole Ritchie, Courtney Cox and Rachel Zoe.
"She looked amazing and kept giggling while mingling with friends, nibbling on food and playing games," a guest told People magazine. "She seemed to have the best time."
While it's not always traditional to throw a baby shower for a second pregnancy, if you've got the cash – and Kate certainly does – why not spend a little time with your friends and family celebrating the impending arrival of a new little one?
Like many unwed couples who experience a surprise pregnancy, Kate told People back in April that while she and Bellamy weren't planning on having a child together, they weren't exactly trying to prevent adding to their brood, either.
"Well, it wasn't like we didn't know what we were doing," a laughing Hudson told the mag. "There were no ovulation kits involved. We were tempting fate, and it worked."
