Singer, actress, fashionista, spokeswoman – is there any role that the versatile Jessica Simpson has yet to tackle in the entertainment industry? While no one could dispute the 32-year-old Texas native's hold over the media, there's one job she's still getting the hang of – and that's being a mom.
Last year, Simpson welcomed her first child – a daughter named Maxwell Drew – with fiance Eric Johnson, and now, the star is just a few months away from meeting her second child, a baby boy.
"I'm so excited to have a son," Simpson told People magazine during her baby shower, which was hosted in Los Angeles on April 14. "He got all these cute vintage cars and I got a lot of little leather jackets I can't wait to try out!"
As always, Simpson showed off chic maternity clothes. She wore a bright blue cocktail dress to the event that was designed by Diane von Furstenberg, which she then paired with cute nude heels.
Her baby shower, which featured a Tom Sawyer theme, included some of Simpson's favorite dishes, like pigs in a blanket, grilled cheese and Thousand Island dressing at the salad bar.
But unlike during her first pregnancy, when Simpson gained substantial weight and ultimately became a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, this time around she's said she's working out more and watching what she eats.
