Kate Middleton's growing baby bump due in July

The announcement that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and her husband, Prince William, are expecting their first child made international headlines and renewed the media frenzy surrounding the royal duo.

Equally headline-grabbing was the news that Middleton was hospitalized for nearly four days with severe morning sickness, a rare yet serious condition that can impact women throughout their pregnancies.

While Middleton is said to be recovering well from her bout with severe morning sickness, news about the royal pregnancy has been sparse. Yet in a statement made on Jan. 14, the couple broke their silence and released more exciting news!

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July,” read the statement, which was released by the Palace at 11 a.m. London time, according to People magazine.

Contrary to rumors, media representatives have confirmed that Middleton and Prince William are not expecting twins. While it certainly would have made life at Buckingham Palace more exciting, the revelation that the pair will welcome a single little boy or girl into the world is likely a relief for those concerned about the succession!
