Kerri Walsh Jennings welcomes baby girl Scout

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings gave birth to her third child, daughter Scout Margery Jennings, on April 6 at 7:46 a.m.

Walsh Jennings, 34, who is already a mom to boys Joey, 3½, and Sundance, 2½, was reportedly excited to add a little girl to her growing brood with husband and pro volleyball player Casey Jennings.

When asked about her daughter's unique name, Walsh Jennings explained, "Scout is my favorite character in all of literature – Scout Finch from 'To Kill a Mockingbird.' She's brilliant. She loves her family and I just love her little spirit," Walsh Jennings said on the "TODAY Show." "And Margery is after my mother, who is the most beautiful human being I ever met."

According to Walsh Jennings, the little girl is already showing that she follows her own path, just like her mother. Induced three days before her pregnancy's due date, Walsh Jennings noted that the delivery happened at lightning-quick speed and that her doctor didn't make it in time.

Although Walsh Jennings is sure to relish this special time with her family, the star athlete has revealed her plans to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which means she'll be hitting the gym again before long!
