Singer-songwriter Shakira, who welcomed her first child with soccer star Gerard Pique on Jan. 22 in Barcelona, shows off her newborn bundle of joy in an exclusive snapshot released on the couple’s UNICEF website.
The photo depicts Pique cradling their son, Milan, in his hand and kissing the baby’s cheek.
“We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations,” wrote Shakira, 35, and Pique, 26. “Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us.”
Shakira, who also works as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, will appear on the upcoming season of “The Voice,” the hit NBC singing competition.
Throughout her pregnancy, Shakira has strived to raise awareness of the plight of disadvantaged children throughout the world. The proceeds of her global online baby shower have benefited UNICEF’s programs that respond to those in need.
In addition to her humanitarian work, the “Hips Don’t Lie” songstress has shown off several chic maternity clothes that have allowed her to demonstrate her keen eye for style.
