Coping with pregnancy changes to body

Q: Pregnancy is making me crazy and inscure about my body. How do I cope?

A: I get this question all the time. Once the pregnancy news settles, patients want to know what is going to happen to their bodies. They want to know if they will ever go back to “normal.”  The answer is yes, you will. The most common changes in first trimester are fatigue, breast enlargement, and nausea. Skin changes, hair changes, mood swings, swelling, and back pain follow in the next trimesters. Many patients are surprised to find out that hemorrhoids are normal. Many of the changes are common and temporary and so worth it because at the end of it all you will have a baby.
