Big Red Rooster Sound Machine Review

Since our baby girl was born, my husband and I have been exhausted looking for ways to help our baby get better sleep. While many tips and suggestions we’ve tried have helped, we’ve found that background noise works particularly well. It helps our baby fall asleep easier and it’s also a great way to establish a nighttime ritual for sleep training. We started off with playing white noise through our smart phones plugged into an external speaker, but that approach has some drawbacks. Your phone is tied up and the sound gets interrupted if you need to make a call. We also ran into problems with our streaming app crashing or the connection getting interrupted. Not the best experience when you are relying on continuous sound throughout the night.

I was delighted when given the opportunity to review Big Red Rooster’s Sound Machine. When I received the sound machine I was pleasantly surprised that it’s tiny. It’s only 2.6 inches in height, and 4.4”x4” in dimension. It’s beautifully designed in white, and looks great on my nightstand. The product is intuitive and easy to use. It comes with timer options to play sound for 15, 30, 60 minutes, or continuously. There are 6 sound options: heartbeat, ocean waves, lullaby, rock-a-bye, twinkle twinkle little star, white nose, and 2 secret tracks–birds chirping and water flushing. As for power options, it can run off an AC adaptor or 3 AA batteries.

While a baby sound machine is more of a luxury than a necessity, getting a good night sleep is priceless. And at only $24.99 for the Red Rooster’s Sound Machine is definitely worth the price. I can see using it for myself alone if my baby ever outgrows it. The only con is that the sound quality is only so-so in my book. Overall, I give this product 4 out of 5 stars.
