Weil Integrative Footwear: Women’s Balance Walking Shoe

As a full time working mother, I am definitely exercise challenged.  I can’t remember the last time I “worked out.”  Unfortunately, exercise is one thing I need most – for fitness, health, mental sanity…  I am also a big fan of Dr. Andrew Weil and his Optimum Health Plan.  So, for the past 6 months I’ve been trying to integrate walking into my lunch time routine.  When I heard about Dr. Weil’s new line of footwear, I was excited to give it a try, and I decided to try the Women’s Balance Walking shoe.

Now the first few things I read about the Balance Walking show was that it was designed by a podiatrist, had tri-planar motion control, and a 1st Ray Flexor zone.  To be honest, that did not build my confidence that I would want to step out in this shoe.  But when I checked out the Balance (I selected the color mocha), I was pleasantly surprised at how stylish the shoe was.  Unlike other walking/running shoes I have, the Balance better complements my work attire, which makes for wearing the shoe during my commute or during my lunch hour more subtle.  And, the fact that the shoe was designed by a podiatrist and comes built in with all this cool shoe technology (the footbed aides rearfoot alignment and function & the 1st Ray Flexor zone assists in forefoot mobility and gait efficiency) actually does make for a very comfortable shoe!  In addition, I definitely appreciate a shoe that helps with my posture by helping to restore my body to its natural and correct position without any discomfort.  Whether I’m taking a quick lunch time walk or sprinting from public transportation to my 9am meeting, the Balance Walking shoe has delivered in comfort and style.

I noticed that the Weil Integrative Footwear line also offers sandals and very cute moccasins.  I am enjoying the Balance so much that I may have to try the moccasins next!
