Trying to get pregnant? We’ll take a look at the best fertility apps and help you find the right one for you.

In an age where we can sync with our cycles, and measure our steps, you better believe there are apps to make monitoring your body chemistry easier.

To find the best one, we put three fertility-boosting apps to the test. We focused on tracking your cycle, and unique features we know you’ll enjoy. We’d like to say a big “THANK YOU!” to the founders for creating all these apps to support couples on the path to parenthood. They’re all helpful. As always, find what jives with you.

Beep! Beep! Hold on, I have to take my basal temperature and record it. Just kidding!

Period Tracker App

You’ll never forget this pink daisy again. The simple dashboard allows you to track your period, PMS symptoms like Spotting, Flow, Cramps, Headaches, Backaches, Bloating, Tender Breasts, and Body Aches (You can add custom symptoms, too!), plus your mood, weight, water intake, exercise activity, temperature, pills you take, and sexual activity.

The calendar clearly displays your eight day fertile window, cycle days, as well as, predicts ovulation. The pink line indicates a period, the green dot means you’re fertile, that pink daisy again marks ovulation, and the red heart shows when you’re intimate with your partner.

It features a Trying to Conceive (TTC) mode that turns on daily tips and advanced charts. You can choose which notifications you need like: BB Temperature Alert, Ovulation Prediction Mucus Alert, Cervical Mucus Alert, Cervical Observations Alert, Pregnancy Test Alert, and Fertility Medicine Alert. For the journal lovers, it has a notes section. You can also record your TCC method each month. Your choices are: BB Temperature, Ovulation Prediction Kit, Cervical Mucus, Fertility Monitor, Ferning, OV Watch, Artificial Insemination, Intrauterine Insemination, and In Vitro Fertilization. It’s pretty nichey.

By default, the app sets your luteal period as 14 days (the luteal phase is the number of days that pass between your ovulation day and the start of your next period). You can change your luteal length by going into the app’s Settings > General > Ovulation page.

Did we mention it’s connected to a blog with helpful hints to sync up the sperm and egg? Uh, yeah. It has that, too. Best part? It’s free on iPhone and Android.

Our Thoughts: Be sure to turn on the Predict Periods Using Luteal Length feature! Why? Aunt Flow doesn’t always do open mic night every 28 days. The app conveniently predicts your next period start date by tracking the average cycle length of your last three cycles. For example, if you’re cycle usually lasts 26 days, the Period Tracker App will say your next cycle will start in 26 days. Love it!

Flo Period & Ovulation Tracker

This simple and free app tracks your period, ovulation, and fertility windows. Inside you’ll find fertility and ovulation calendars, the app uses machine learning for fairly good accuracy. Flo also makes you aware about good days for conception.

Like the Period Tracker app, you can log any PMS symptoms you experience, so it can present  your data in handy charts.

The dashboard is simpler than Period Tracker, so if you lean towards a minimalist life, you may like it better.

Our thoughts: The difference between this app and Period Tracker is that it helps you track your pregnancy. Think of it like What to Expect book on your phone (and less intimidating!). Their site overflows with tips for all stages of motherhood, which is a nice bonus. See categories below:

This app will be by your side every step of the way, regardless if you want a baby, or to track your period.

My Flo App

This app falls under the unique features category  we KNOW you’ll like. My Flo app is the world’s FIRST functional medicine period tracker and hormone balancing app by Alisa Vitti. Although the purpose isn’t mainly to help you get pregnant (although it can), it’ll help you use your female operating system to your advantage. The data you share is 100% private.

Alisa believes you can have PMS-symptom-FREE periods when you start eating the right foods during each of the four weeks of your cycle.

YES! You can be symptom free and use your cycle’s magical powers to find hormone balance, improved focus, more efficient workouts, know what to eat to support your endocrine system, and make love like you’ve never before. It’s true, each cycle phase has its own gifts. The app tells you each week what your hormones are up to, the best way to make love, eat, work, AND socialize depending on your feminine energy fluctuations. When you tune into them, your whole life WILL transform!

Women I know who’ve planned their wedding and speaking gigs on their ovulation days say it’s totally changed their life. When you’re ovulating, you’re more outgoing and confident, so why NOT plan important things when you’re naturally shining your brightest? HELLO! Bio-hack your life! #ProductivityatitsFinest

Our thoughts: While this app’s main function isn’t to help you conceive, it has so many other fun features, that we had to include it on the list. My Flo app helps you track your period, ovulation days, AND when you opt-in will email your partner with instructions on what you need romantically in each phase. It’s genius! If your partner doesn’t understand why you’re cranky or eating chocolate for dinner, soon they’ll see why, and will learn how to speak, touch, and support you best for your all your phases. #Winning

Please note: these apps aren’t guaranteed to get you pregnant. Even the best fertility apps can only help track your progress and results. Talk to your doctor about the best method for you.
