Stylish moms everywhere look up to Gwen Stefani, a rock-n-roll icon who hasn’t lost any of her unique fashion sense despite becoming a mom two times over. And it seems that she isn’t the only one who knows a thing or two about fashion – her sons Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3, are often spotted wearing eccentric and unique outfits. So does this fashion designer have any advice for other clothes-conscious moms?

The singer, who was the cover girl for InStyle’s November issue, dished on her kids’ independent fashion sense during her interview for the fashion mag, according to People Magazine.

“I like them to be creative and have fun,” the 42-year-old told the publication, according to the news source. “I’d love to be part of it – don’t get me wrong. Sometimes they’ll get dressed and it’s horrifying. But they often come out in outfits that are awesome.”

Of course, Kingston and Zuma come from creative roots. Not only is their mother a famous singer and fashion designer (her fashion lines L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers are sold all over the globe), their father, Gavin Rossdale, is also a musician.

Rossdale and Stefani have been married since 2002.
