Hate being pregnant? You’re not alone

Imagine for a minute that you don't have a growing baby inside of you. You're simply putting on a lot of weight, feeling sick all the time and suddenly making excessive trips to the bathroom. You have an urge to eat all manner of strange foods and your moods are constantly changing. You probably wouldn't like it if any of these things were happening to you normally, so who says you're supposed to enjoy them during a pregnancy?

If you're feeling guilty about hating pregnancy, there's no reason to be ashamed. Many women don't enjoy what happens to their bodies and minds when they're pregnant, but that doesn't mean they don't love their babies or are going to make bad mothers! If you're someone who simply doesn't radiate that "pregnancy glow" that everyone's always talking about, it's totally okay.

If you're feeling down about how you look, there are plenty of ways you can make yourself feel better. For starters, why not exercise while pregnant? Even if it's only going for a walk everyday or doing a few yoga moves, staying active can make you feel better and keep your mind off of the negative aspects you're always thinking about.

Instead of focusing on the bad parts of pregnancy, try to think about the great times ahead of you. Once your baby arrives, your body will likely return to normal (albeit with a little bit of work) and you'll be able to feel confident about yourself again. Plus, you'll have a bundle of joy to fawn over! In the meantime, you have a lot of things to keep yourself busy with, like fixing up the baby's room, picking out the perfect name and possibly helping your mom, sister or best friend plan a baby shower. Try to make your pregnancy fun and think about how great you'll feel with a newborn in your arms. Remember – pregnancy is only nine months but parenthood lasts forever!
