Many women probably envisioned having their own babies with boy band heartthrob Nick Lachey, but one lucky girl out there is actually living the dream. According to recent reports, Lachey's wife, Vanessa Minnillo, is pregnant!
People Magazine reports that the couple is expecting their first child sometime in the late summer or early fall. Lachey revealed the news during his co-hosting duties on Live! With Kelly on March 5, confirming the rumors that were already circulating.
Lachey explained on air that after Vanessa appeared on the show back in January, she started to feel a little different and went to the store to pick up a pregnancy test. It came back positive, and the two have been getting ready for the baby ever since.
"I've had the chance to do a lot of great things in my career and in my life, but this is the one thing, that more than any other, I've looked forward to," he said. "So the fact that it's actually here and we're going through all these experiences – it's overwhelming."
The couple may not know the gender of the baby just yet, but they're having fun speculating about names. So far, they like Sophia for a girl, but they're unsure what they would name a boy, according to what Lachey said on the show.
People reports that after sharing the big news on TV, Lachey returned home to find a flurry of Twitter messages congratulating him and his wife. He responded by thanking all of his fans and asking what everyone thought the gender would be.
Similarly, Vanessa tweeted her excitement about the pregnancy. No doubt, this couple is ready for a new baby!
