“Teen Mom 2” star Leah Messer-Calvert added another bouncing baby girl to her brood. The 20-year-old welcomed her first child with husband Jeremy Calvert, 24, on Feb. 4.
On Feb. 3, Messer-Calvert hinted that the arrival of the baby may be close at hand. “Yes, the time is near … Can’t wait to meet you little Miss Calvert!” she tweeted.
Although Messer-Calvert has yet to release the name of her little girl, the baby joins big sisters Aliannah Hope and Aleeah Grace Simms, the 3-year-old twins from Messer-Calvert’s previous marriage to Corey Simms.
Messer-Calvert rose to fame as one of several teens highlighted on the hit MTV show, “16 and Pregnant.”
Her rousing story – the West Virginia native gave birth to twins when she was just 16 years old – quickly gathered the hearts of audiences around the country. Later, Messer-Calvert was selected to participate in a spin-off of the show, “Teen Mom 2.”
For the last three seasons, Messer-Calvert has allowed camera crews to document her life and struggles, including her experiences with daughter, Ali, who was born with a developmental disorder.
In depicting the struggles that young women face raising their children, the show indirectly provides resources for single mothers and to promote safe sex practices.
