How to make sure your home is ready for the new addition to your family

Intuitive parenting is all about listening to your gut instinct and following your heart when it comes to raising your children. It’s about trusting yourself as a parent and knowing that you have the wisdom and ability to raise your children in the best way possible. Intuitive parenting is based on the belief that we are all born with an innate sense of what is best for your child. There’s no place more important for intuitive parenting than in the home and when preparing for your new addition! Below are some of the best tips to help ensure your home is ready for the new baby.

Create a peaceful and calming environment

The energy in your home will have a big impact on your new baby. It’s crucial to create a peaceful environment that encourages relaxation. Parents are looking for ways to turn their nurseries into havens. In fact, new parents spent $127 billion worldwide on new bedroom furniture in 2021.

Some simple ways to create a peaceful environment in your home include opting for natural materials like wood and stone, using calming colors like blue and green, and adding soothing elements like candles or essential oils. You can also try hanging wind chimes to create a soothing ambiance.

Feng shui your home

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese practice that helps to create harmony in the home. When applied to your nursery, feng shui can help promote sleep, relaxation, and a sense of calm for your new baby.

There are a few simple feng shui tips you can use to prepare your nursery. First, clear out any clutter and make sure the room is well-ventilated. You should also avoid placing the crib near a window or in direct line with the door. Instead, try to position it so that your baby can see the door but not be in direct line with it.

You can also use feng shui symbols in your nursery to create a sense of balance and harmony. Some popular symbols include dragons, phoenixes, and turtles. You can also try placing a pair of Mandarin ducks in your nursery as they symbolize fidelity and love! Feng shui is a wonderful way to create a space you and your little one will love.

Ensure the temperature is comfortable

Before you bring your new baby home, make sure your home is energy-efficient and the temperature is comfortable. Losing heat or cold through windows is responsible for 25%-30% of energy usage.

You can lower your energy usage and costs by caulking and weather-stripping around doors and windows. You should also check that your furnace filter is clean and replace it if necessary. In the summer months, you can use fans to circulate cool air and keep the temperature comfortable. Just be sure to keep them out of reach of your little one!

Buy Essential Baby Items

Of course, you’ll need to purchase some essential items for your new baby. But with so many products on the market, it can be hard to know what you really need.

A good place to start is by making a list of the things you’ll need for feeding, sleeping, diapering, and bathing your baby. You should also consider what type of stroller, car seat, and crib you want. Once you have a list of the essential items, you can start to narrow down your choices. Fortunately, you can always replace an item if it turns out it doesn’t suit your home. According to Home Guide, most companies offer three to 10-year warranties for their items.

Some parents prefer to buy everything new, while others opt for second-hand or hand-me-down items. There are pros and cons to both approaches, so it’s important to weigh your options and choose what’s best for you and your family.

Making sure your home is ready for your new arrival is an important part of the pregnancy journey. By following these simple tips, you can create a peaceful and harmonious environment that will be perfect for your new baby!
