Is Kate Middleton’s baby bump a future king?

05/08/2013 by Pregnancy Editors Leave a Comment

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is currently expecting her first child with her husband, Prince William. The royal couple, who are third in line for the throne of Great Britain, have kept many of the details of their pregnancy under wraps, but recently, sources have claimed that one cat is out of the bag – the gender of the would-be future king or queen.

According to reports, Middleton is carrying a baby boy, which is big news for the excited royal family, who can trace their lineage back to William the Conqueror. But even more shocking is the fact that some are claiming Prince Harry – the younger brother of Prince William – is the one who spilled the beans!

"Harry has been telling everyone Will and Kate are having a boy and how thrilled he is at the prospect of having a little nephew," a source told The Mirror.

If this is true, it completely contradicts earlier claims that Middleton is expecting a bouncing baby girl. The Duchess fanned the flames of these rumors herself during an outing to the National Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby, England, in March, where the soon-to-be mother accepted a teddy bear from a person in the crowd and responded, "Thank you, I'll take that for my d-."

One thing's for sure – we won't find out the gender of the little one at the baby shower! Some experts have claimed that Middleton won't be having a soiree of this sort, which is relatively uncommon in the U.K., any time soon.

Instead, many expect Middleton and Prince William to continue being discreet in the remaining months of the pregnancy, both about the baby's sex and their getting ready for baby plans.
