Shakira bares baby bump in radiant photo shoot

01/21/2013 by Leave a Comment

Grammy-winning pop star Shakira, 35, released photographs from a recent photo shoot with boyfriend Gerard Pique, 25, that showcases the singer’s growing baby bump.

On Jan. 16, she published a moving photo of herself and Pique. Donning a vibrant gold maxi skirt and bikini top, the Colombian-born songstress looked absolutely radiant as she cradled her belly.

In other photographs, Shakira wore a flowing white dress that accentuated her bump and her complexion.

“The countdown begins!” the “Wherever, Whenever” singer wrote on Facebook in tandem with the release of the photos. “And we’d like to invite you to participate in our world baby shower joining efforts with UNICEF.”

In addition to planning for the arrival of her little one, Shakira – who also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF – is trying to raise money to benefit impoverished children around the world through a virtual baby shower.

While Shakira and her beau, who plays soccer, have yet to release the due date of their first born, they have revealed that they’re expecting a boy.

The couple met on the set of her video “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” the theme song for the World Cup in South Africa.
