Baja Baby Skincare

by Kali Hoff-Weekes Leave a Comment

organic baby skincare line

My children have a lot of hair. They were born with a lot of hair and that hair has only gained momentum since the day they were born. They have thick, curly hair that changes with the weather or even their mood. Or maybe it just feels that way as I have stick straight hair that looks the same whether I am in Chicago on the most humid of days or a 75 degree Los Angeles seasonless day. I have experimented with many different shampoos and various hair products since my first child was born. Many baby shampoos didn’t seem to penetrate my daughter’s hair. Some of the products that did seem to really clean her hair ended leaving her hair limp and devoid of the body that I envy on a daily basis.

All this to say that it is hard to find the right balance between cleaning, moisturizing, and allowing the hair to shine in its natural state. The Unscented Shampoo from the luxury organic baby skincare line Baja Baby does just that. Both of my children’s hair looks and feels clean after a wash all while having the body maintained. It lathers nicely and isn’t a challenge to rinse out. My son has sensitive skin so I am always wary of trying new soap on him and the Unscented Shampoo & Body Wash has been great. No sign of irritation and I love the pump style bottle.

I always found the one size fits all approach to shampoo, conditioner, and soap for babies to be a bit odd so when Baja Baby sent me products I was thrilled to see that they sent their Soft Citrus Conditioning Cream along with the Unscented Shampoo and Lavender lotion (items retail for $24.95). I have enjoyed the conditioner as much as the shampoo. I had recently purchased a leave-in conditioner for my children but I find it a lot easier to add a step while they are already in the bath rather than trying to apply it while chasing them down the hallway. The Conditioner is not too thick and is easily applied and rinsed out. It is not a product that I use on a nightly basis and their hair isn’t any more dry on the nights I just shampoo.

I love lavender. I rubbed lavender oil into my daughters feet almost every night  for the first year of her life hoping that it would help her sleep through the night (no luck there). My second born child didn’t get that same treatment but he does get to enjoy Baja Baby Lavender Nourishing Lotion. It smells great and moisturizes well. I have used it myself more than a few times. I love the smell and the way it leaves everyone’s skin feeling.

Baja Baby products met all my requirements. My children’s hair is clean and wild and beautiful. Their skin is soft and they smell great but above all these products are made with our children in mind. There are no parabens, sulfates, or phosphates. All of the things I have avoided since pregnancy and beyond. They also go above and beyond with their 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. I don’t know what it is but since becoming a Mother I cannot stand wasting money or time. I appreciate a company that can stand behind their products so much so if for any reason I am not happy I can let them know and I will be refunded without hassle. This company was started by Mothers who care about their children and I will happily support that while keeping my children clean in the process.
