Facebook readers share the one thing they’d change about their pregnancy

02/18/2015 by Pregnancy Contributor Leave a Comment

There are chapters in our lives that we wish we could go back and do something differently. During pregnancy, there’s a lot that you go through such as morning sickness all the way to how you delivered that some women wish they could change.

Of course, you have no control whether or not you get morning sickness, it’s just something that happens. What you can do, however, is adjust how you handle it. Morning sickness can leave you feeling like you’ll never be able to muster the strength to get out of bed, but by drinking ginger ale, eating smaller meals and getting up slowly in the morning, you can help with the nausea associated with morning sickness.

Several of our Facebook readers took part in our discussion and said they wished that they could avoid morning sickness.

Allison said that if she could go back she would hire a doula to help her during labor. A doula provides you with emotional support during the birthing process, helping to make labor a little easier on you.

Numerous women, including Charlotte Ezeh, said that if they could change one thing it would be the stretch marks. What many women don’t realize is that stretch marks are nearly impossible to prevent. If you’re going to get them then it’s going to happen. There are things you can do to help stave off stretch marks for as long as possible, including rubbing lotion on your belly and maintaining a healthy weight throughout your pregnancy.

Jaclyn, Shasha and Dianne said they would avoid the pain. It’s common for your back, hips and pelvis to hurt during pregnancy. Exercise, as advised by your health care provider, can help with discomfort.

If you could change one thing about your pregnancy, what would it be? Join in the discussion below!
